FOR NOW DEJAN PERIC IS THE NEW SERBIAN HEAD COACH
In almost two months before the beginning of the qualifications for the European championship in Poland, Serbia still has not decided who will be the next head coach of the senior national handball team. Purportedly they talked with Lino Cervar, and he supposedly declined the offer, and also Carlos Pastro, who is Pick Szeged’s coach, was one of the candidates, but probably he is still thinking. Other potential candidates are Vujovic, Petkovic, Perunicic, and Cvetkovic.
As long as the search for the new Serbian head coach lasts, the legendary goalkeeper, Dejan Peric, who has been Vladan Matic’s assistant so far, will take his post after Matic had been fired because of the disaster on the EURO 2014 in Denmark and the unsuccessful qualifications for the Qatar World Championship. The assembly of the Serbian handball federation reached this decision on yesterday’s meeting.
