RK RADOVIS LEFT THE POINTS IN AVTOKOMANDA HALL
The match from the first round in the play-offs between HC Metalurg and RK Radovis was held at Avtokomanda Hall. HC Metalurg marked its first victory with a result 26:20 (16:13) and won the first points in the ongoing Macedonian Championship.
HC Metalurg did not play as it should have, and Lino Cervar will now have a lot of work to do in order to eliminate the weaknesses. This especially refers to the offense in our team, although the defense was not up to the task on few occasions. But if you consider that this match was right after the long break in the championship, while the team was training hard in Vrnjacka Banja, then these three points are actually worth the celebration. HC Metalurg can play better than this and must prove it on the following two matches that are really important in this part of the play-offs, for instance the away match against RK Prilep, and then the one against HC Zomimak M in Avtokomanda Hall.
RK Radovis this evening proved to be a decent opponent, especially in the first half. In the beginning, the opponent’s players were scoring series of goals. HC Metalurg took the lead with 1:0, but then RK Radovis returned with three goals in a row. Then, HC Metalurg made a series of 4:0, for 5:3. In the 11-th minute, we were leading with an advantage of three goals, 7:4 and then let RK Radovis score five goals and take over the lead with 7:9. However, we finished the first half with an advantage of three goals, 16:13.
In the second half, we had a lot of technical errors and poor efficiency in the attacks. In the end, the quality of our team decided for the match, and we marked an important victory which at least for now is bringing us to the first position on the table.
