ZARKO MARKOVIC SIGNED FOR EL JAISH SC
HC Metalurg’s former player, Zarko Markovic will spend the next three years in Qatar where he is going to play for the team of El Jaish SC.
Although the German media speculated that Markovic was leaving for HC Vardar Skopje, he decided to accept the rich offer of the Qatari club. This is a comeback for Markovic in Qatar, because he had played in this country for the team of Al-Ahli before he came to HC Metalurg.
Another player from Montenegro will play together with Markovic in El Jaish – R. N. Löwen’s goalkeeper, Goran Stojanovic who even obtained the Qatari citizenship. There are speculations that Markovic has also the same intention, so both players will probably reinforce the Qatari national handball team for the World Championship 2015 where Qatar is actually the host.
“I think that I have made the right choice by signing a three-year contract with the team of El Jaish SC. I have come in a country where there were a lot of investments in the last couple of years and where this sport is at high price. I saw with my own eyes last year when I played on the Super Globe for the team of HSV Hamburg”, says Markovic.
